Can anyone on this site definitively identify if there are any differences in the 2500 Rebel suspension vs. a Limited, Laramie, etc.? I'm referring specifically to the diesel models. I drove a '24 Rebel and a '24 Longhorn, and I swear the Rebel handled the rough parts of the road smoother. I know the shocks are different, but what about the springs and sway bars? Both trucks actually rode smoother than my 2014 Laramie 2500, but the Rebel had the better ride in my opinion. The '24 Rebel had a lower payload and towing capacity than the other trim levels, but apparently it's the same for the new 2025 models. Trying to decide whether to order a '25 Rebel or Limited. Thanks in advance!

There is a difference in the suspension, but no one knows exactly what (or at least no one who knows will say so here). The sway bars are the same, and the shocks are the same as the off-road package trucks and PW.

We know the suspension is somehow different because there’s an order code for “Rebel Suspension” and there’s actually a unique frame part number for truck with “Rebel Suspension”. No idea what’s different between that frame and other 2500 frames unfortunately.

Only the diesel Rebel has lower GVWR/payload and towing. The gas Rebel is the same as other 2500s.

Thank you for the response! I wonder if the frame is any different for the new 2025 model year... The Rebel now shares the same GVWR and tow capacities of the other trims. I even had the dealer confirm this. Maybe with the new Cummins they had to make them all the same to handle the additional torque.

Piggybacking on here, as I'm looking at a 2026 Rebel w/ the 6.4L HEMI & 4.10 ratio, and I need to tow 16k pounds. Will this Rebel do this, or is the towing capacity limited like the Power Wagon is? Dealers don't seem willing / able to give me a definitive answer.

All the numbers you need are posted by Ram, no need to ever ask the dealer for information. The lowest tow rating for a Hemi crew cab short bed 4x4 is 17130. So technically yes, assuming you can find a 16k pound trailer that won’t put you way over your tongue weight.

That’s said, you will probably hate it. I tow a 12.5k (actual scale weight) travel trailer (1600 pound tongue weight) with my truck and it’s at the extreme max of what I’d consider acceptable on a regular basis. I also never crack 8 MPG while towing.
