Radius arm drop brackets

anyone have any experience with drop brackets? what are you using? I have a carli level and would like the the carli drop brackets but the installation seems like a bit much (requires drilling). id like some drop in brackets if possible.

I went with Synergy, but they required a decent amount of drilling as well. It wasn't difficult by any means, just awkward getting the right positioning with enough leverage, and ended up going through two bits in the process.

According to Carli, when they were working on creating their suspension systems for the 5th gen trucks they found that like 1-in-4 trucks couldn't get enough caster adjustment for their 3.25" systems. According to my Dan, it was an issue to a lesser extent with their 2.5" level as well, but they could sort of squeak by. He said the reason it's not a requirement is more to give people a better option than the competition at the price point (ie. having their coils and tuned shocks vs a competitors off the shelf stuff). He did tell me that he will recommend the drop brackets to folks over the phone who ask and that it's an option on their builder for that exact reason. It arguably does bring suspension travel back to stock like travel, so that is a bonus. If it's necessary or not is a personal call.

I have no horse in this race, just sharing the information I was given.

You could also go the route of replacing the radius arms. While it is a lot more expensive, there is no drilling

The Radius Arm Drop Bracket installation sounds intimidating. I was intimidated to do it also. Once I held the brackets along with the jig they provide, it all makes sense and is very straightforward.

Drop brackets and longer radius arms aren't really accomplishing the same thing. The drop brackets are correcting suspension geometry. You want the arms as close to flat at ride height as possible. Longer arms won't do that.
