I'm thinking of replacing my 2022 ECM with the unlocked replacement originally installed on a 2019-21 truck.
FCA p/n 68363277AA is what I plan on purchasing. They show this as being compatible with 2019 - 2022 Cummins 6.7 trucks.
Dirty Diesel in CA offers a Unlock Service, I would have to send them my original ECM and the replacement ECM.
They will copy the files from my 22 ECM to the unlocked 19-21 ECM and send it all back to me.
Once I receive the ECMs back from DD, I would install the 19-21 ECM and load my choice of CCS tune.
Though it doesn't happen very often, I'm concerned with the possibility of losing two ECMs in transit.
What I'm thinking of doing is having my local dealer install and configure the 19-21 ECM for me.
As I understand it, they would load the stock 2022 files and I would end up with an unlocked ECM that I would then be able to tune.
Does that make sense?
Maybe Jimmy07 can offer some insight?
