Does anyone else have issues with their iPhone overheating using the wireless charging in the Ram? I have a limited with wireless and it has to pause due to heating issues. Also, does anyone know the wattage of the wireless charing? I would hope it was at least 15 watts.

What kind of case do you have on your phone? My iPhone 11 charges just fine in my truck. It has overheated when the sun is coming in through the sunroof and shining on the phone while driving, but otherwise good.

I think the output is only 10w. Just enough to keep the phone from losing power while using it in the truck. If I want it to charge I use a cable in the usb C port. If I want it to charge faster (built in ports are 20w), then I plug a 65w charger into the inverter.

For the most part the wireless charger is fine.

Thanks. I am looking for a lighter weight case and hope that solves it. I would rather do wireless when using gps. I try to keep things clean.

I do not have a case on my phone and have not had any issues with heat in mine.

Do you run a lot of apps on your device while it is charging? I've found that application load WHILE wireless charging are directly related. Especially Carplay and or Android Auto running while charging. If you are using Carplay, streaming music, talking on the phone, etc while wirelessly charging, the phones will heat up fast.

For a test, try charger cable while using your phone instead. See if it runs cooler.

I've always felt wireless charging is best for the nightstand for overnight charging when your phones are quietest.
