1st time Poster longtime lurker!

So kind of a silly but serious question. I recently bought a brand new 2022 Ram 2500 Limited Crew Cab Mega Cab (SRW). It is my 1st short-bed truck ever, It also means I had to move from a non-sliding 5th-wheel hitch to a slider. In this case, I picked up a Pullrite Superslide 2900 with a Mopar adapter plate. The ONLY issue with it, is it's HEAVY! At nearly 250 pounds and bulky it is just too heavy to manhandle in and out of bed like my old hitch. I have an engine hoist, but I do not want to mess with unpacking it from the shop, and then pack it up in the bed when I want to remove the hitch when I get to my destination (mostly my place in the mountains.).

My thought would be to use the gooseneck puck to somehow mount my winch (That is already in a cradle) and drag it up with ramps on a furniture dolly into/out of the bed. With my previous truck, I would use the winch on my quad to pull it up into the truck bed. I do not see why a winch mounted to the puck system would not work. (as long as you can avoid the line rubbing on the bed).

Any reason this would not work? C
Crude drawing of what I am thinking

Seems like it should work to me. I've also heard of folks leaving the hitch hanging from the trailer.
