PSA: Running 2.5" shocks? Weld your shock mounts!!

PSA to everyone running 2.5" shocks, weld your axle shock mounts. They are only 1/2 welded to the axle, surely in an attempt for ram to save some money. Mine sheared right off while driving. Surely cold temps didn't help, idk why they weld this so poorly from the factory though

Very odd that that is something they skip out on, a few welds that could lead to a catastrophic event. AEV puts a warning out there when buying their shocks as well.

The tabs were cracked for a while it looks like. this cutting corners crap is so frustrating with the cost of these trucks. I have broken fully welded mounts on my jeeps. I guess i now have to climb under my truck and weld the mounts when i have time

Even if they were fully welded, guys have put a hurting on those mounts for a while. Since you're gonna be welding anyway, I recommend the Carli mounts (link).
