Soft topper is the way to go, imo. Gives the truck a nice "expedition" look. I hope to get one soon.

The bed camera will be basically unusable... you can scroll up the thread to see what it looks like.
You will need at least 3/4" of space between the the CHMSL and the topper or body flex will crack the CHSML housing.. someone else posted about that problem.

I purchased it from a company in Minneapois and brought it directly to a paint shop to color match it to my truck unfortunately I did not even take a picture of it... no clue why but I should have it next week Tuesday or Wednesday.

I bought it from Top-A-Truck. They specialize in carrying over 100 use toppers and stocking other tops from Ranch. My first choice was ARE and my second was LEER. But this was a great economical choice. Excellent service, I would tell anyone to go there for the top kind friendly ultimately on top of everything.

I had a Softtopper on my last truck, I liked it...but did not get one for my ram because:
1) offers no security for items in bed
2) limits rearward visibility. The rear window got super hazy after a couple years to the point it was useless, and there are no side windows.
3) one of the rivets where the tubes pivot broke, when I treated the truck in it was held together with tape
4) no 3rd brake light (I know you can add them, but it isn’t a built in feature)

I did like being able to easily flip it down to load big items, or make big hauls to the dump while keeping the load covered without needing to get a tarp over it. Plus it looked pretty sweet.

I have an ARE solid side topper, with inside sliding glass it fits nicely and follows the cab body lines well.
I took it again put my headache rack and toolbox back on..I got the topper used it was white, with a lexan back window glass was gone paid 200 bucks for it and painted it myself..

I ordered a Snugtop Rebel with oversized windows, front folding and sliding window, pet screens, center led light, remote unlock, sportsman's package through DACO off Sepulveda in Van Nuys. Should be arriving in March and i'll post photos here.
