Just received memo from Stellantis on price increases going into effect beginning tomorrow evening.

As a reminder, when we place a sold-order in your name/address, you are protected from these types of increases. So long as either your name and/or address are the same at time of titling, they cannot charge me more and I cannot charge you more than what’s on the order we sign together.

Rebates, on the other hand, you can take the better of the options – either day of order or day of delivery, whichever ends up being better off for you.

Please let me know if you’d like to get your order in before these increases take place, while in some cases it’s not a ton – it is worth considering if you were on the fence and thinking about doing it this month since they just upped the rebates in some cases.
This is kind of what we expected, to have small increases in MSRP post strike, but also balanced with small increase in rebates, netting about the same overall situation in some trim levels but some significant increases in others.
At Mark Dodge we will continue to discount aggressively off whatever the MSRP is, so if you miss the boat on this increase we’ll just re-quote with new pricing when you’re ready.

RAM TRUCKS PRICE INCREASE
1500s $800-$850
2500s $1K
3500s $1,105

Really a dumb move when the economy is at a tipping point
It's all a dance.

In October, most 1500's had a $3K rebate, which was significantly early for the new model year to have rebates.
They also had UP TO a $2K dealer incentive (classic dealer stairstep to drive volume). This was only for in-stock sales, couldn't be locked on an order in advance.

In November, the stairstep went away, but the consumer rebates increased by $1500 - now we're at $4500 rebates in most states/trims.
BUT the stairstep went away. So RAM took $2K away from the dealer, gave $1500 of it to the consumer, and kept $500 for themselves.

Then, take a $850 price increase - to which lets just say for this case $750 goes to Ram.

All that being said, they can't increase the MSRP on trucks that already have window stickers (groundstock) AND they can't change MSRP on sold orders that are already placed.
So there's always this game of catch up and overlap between trucks in production, on order, on lot, locked in price, rebates on the ground, etc etc etc.

So in the end, as you all know our standpoint - the best way to do it is to place a sold order so that you:
1. First and most importantly, only get exactly what you want in the truck, nothing more nothing less.
2. Lock in the MSRP which will ultimately always be on a steady incline throughout the model year
3. Retain the option for using the rebates at time of order, or time of delivery, whichever is greater - yielding the best overall discount as % of MSRP
