Premium Fuel Needed for 2020?

I thought mid grade was recommended for the 6.4L in the HD. I know there was always a debate between owners on whether or not Premium would help with MPG but according to the RAM site, https://www.ramtrucks.com/2020/ram-2500/specs.html , it recommends Premium on the 2020.

I am one of those people who will not go above what the manual recommends since we all know it doesn't help. However, if Premium is recommended, we are now talking about a higher cost per gallon than diesel.

I would want to double check that in an owner's manual. Right now, I can't find one for the 2020 HDs on their web site. Or if the dealer gets a 2020 w/ the 6.4L on site, it's easy enough to check the fuel door. I haven't seen anything indicating any real engine difference between the 2019 and 2020, so maybe it's just an error on the specs page. We can hope.

Commercial users would not appreciate that. I doubt they would do that.

My 2015 Hemi would occasionally knock under hard acceleration when I had 87 in it, which happens sometimes when there's no 89 available at the pump. With 89, never any problems. I run 89 all the time, or 87 in a pinch. Haven't noticed problems with 87 in my newer truck, but that doesn't mean anything, my hearing is screwed up from working around jets and guns too many years.

Here is a shot from the 2019 Owners manual
For what it’s worth. On my 2007 5.7L using premium increased my mpg significantly. On my 2019 not much difference. I am back to running mid grade.58110E73-1DC2-4030-A291-76BE533DC9B7.jpeg
