I am planning on purchasing a 2021 Power Wagon with 9900 miles this week and I usually do a Pre Purchase Inspection but was contemplating not this time and just checking things myself as the vehicle looks to be in great shape and I am buying it from a private party who has owned it since new and does not seem to skimp on things. I was planning on checking :

- Lockers (Front and Rear)
- 4 Wheel drive engages
- Sway bar disconnects and connects
- Check the aftermarket 16k Winch
- Check for leaks from the shocks, engine etc
- Check that AC blows cold and Heater blows hot
- Check that the electronics (U Connect) works
- Check seats and other electronics on the inside
- Check codes with OBD reader

I am pretty mechanically inclined and usually fix my cars myself so I feel pretty confident in being able to identify odd things.
Anything specific I should look for or do I need to take it to a dealer for inspection?

Thanks and excited to be joining this community hopefully soon.

Might run a CARFAX just to make sure there wasn't any accidents that haven't been reported. I believe it'll also list the times it was in the dealership.
I have already ran the carfax and it looks clean and it has been dealership serviced so far.

Damn. 9900 miles on a '21? My '21 PW has 80K miles on it now.
No issues so far.
Sounds like it sat a lot.
Check everywhere for leaks.
Check tire wear to see if it might need an alingment. Mine was out from the factory.
If it has power seats, make sure all functions work. My drivers back is intermittent since day 1. Bad switch, but ain't leaving the truck at the dealer fir a week for them to figure it out.

Appreciate it thx

Would not expect much at 9900 miles. Tires and Sway bar disconnects were my only real problems that early on. I guess you could decide how bad the hemi tick is. I am at 191K for 2018. Lol, that thing was parked at some Aspenites Mc Mansion driven a few times a year. Poor PW has never even been out on a trail to play I bet.
