Was washing the PW for the first time in about 8 months and noticed the paint on the front bumper is oxidized (I think that’s the term) in two places. Not sure if it’s bad paint or just wear from the salt crap they’re putting on the road?

It doesn’t bug me all that much as the truck is a tool to me - meant for work, but wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Also if anyone has successfully had it covered under the warranty?

Well that’s odd. I don’t have anything useful to add here, but I’m interested in whatever you find out.

If it is only in those two small areas and not across the entire bumper, maybe that could be from someone stepping on that part of the bumper repeatedly with sandy grit, dirt or salt crap on shoe soles. Like accessing the engine for maintenance or repair or wiping down the hood when washing it. That's my best guess.

Interesting theory. I usually use the left front tow hook to climb up there to put oil in it - maybe I’ve used the bumper? Dunno. The weird part is the passenger side is the worst. Can’t remember having to climb up that side at all

I’d submit a warranty claim if within the 3/36k, looks like paint failure to me.

One would still think the finish on a bumper should be able to handle being stepped on occasionally without wearing off the powdercoat. How about the finish on the rear bumper?

Yeah, I believe they are powder coated. Try a warranty claim and see what they say. Something went wrong in the process, powder coat is way more durable that paint so it shouldn't have done that already.

Living somewhere that Gravels the roads.. i'm going to be bedlining my bumper as I have this same effect + rock chips happening.

I would definitely document it with your dealer for a warranty claim. They should take care of it for you. My 2022 3500 had some slight shipping damage on the chrome on the front grille, but I didn't even see it on my initial walk-around when I picked it up (good lesson learned here), because it was pouring rain/snowing, etc. But, here's the kicker: I bought it out of state from me 6+ hours away and there was no was I was going back to them for this repair, so I brought it to my local dealer who documented it for me with Stellantis and got it approved for a warranty claim. I had to wait a few weeks for the parts that were on back order, but it's all fixed now. Thankfully, there was no paint damage. So, always do a full and complete walk around boys and girls and document anything that doesn't look right. :)
