just bought a used RAM 3500 and yesterday I installed a Banks cold air intake. The instructions said to disconnect both negative battery cables before I started. When I finished the install, i was reconnecting the first cable and it sparked a little when connecting it. Then connected the other negative cable. Started the pickup up and it runs fine (great actually), but the power side steps did not deploy. I found that the F15 fuse was blown (the power side step fuse) so I replaced it. Still no side steps. Checked the fuse again and it was fine.
I have read in other posts that there is a setting in Uconnect to put them in auto or manual. I checked in Uconnect under the Safety and Driving Assistance settings and only have four settings and no side step setting. I am not sure what to do now. Any advise is much appreciated.

Try forcing them to extend via the infotainment system with all doors closed. If they extend, then retract them using same button... Then open doors to confirm.

I don't have that option in my infotainment system. I am thinking these might be the aftermarket side steps since it is not showing up in the menus. I am also thinking the control module is zapped since the fuse for it was blown. What is confusing me is that the truck had a fuse for the side steps.

How can you be sure that blown fuse was the fuse for the steps then? I have aftermarket Amp steps, there's an inline fuse on their power tap (which I had to remove and reseat to reset them after a battery swap). Maybe poke around more?
