After being the victim of some parking lot damage that’s costing me a deductible, I want to put a rear “dash cam” to catch anything happening from behind. Does anyone know of a good power connection in that area of the truck?

There should be the harness that would supply power to the rear heated seats if you had them.

It wouldn't be too hard to pull up the trim right at the edge of the carpet and run wires down the drive or passenger side underneath them and the carpet/vinyl flooring.
Might make for a cleaner install too so that you won't have to vampire clip any wires.

I was thinking more of finding a connector and plugging into it.

Yeah, I figured. It seems like it's hard to know what connectors are and aren't present in some of the tradesman trucks. You're probably going to have to start pulling stuff out and see what's there.
There are a few things that get bolted to the rear wall that your truck may not be equipped with, there may be a connector back there that a different harness would plug into for that.

Have you considered a 2 channel setup? Something like the Viofo 129 Pro. With a two-channel, you'll have a front and rear camera. The rear gets its power from the front camera via a cable run along the headliner and window pillars. Still have to hook up power to the front camera- but there are more options to tap into power up front, or you can just use the supplied 12V cigar lighter plug. Also, if you are doing the camera install for parking it'll be nice to cover the front side too.

Already have one in the front but I’m willing to consider anything. I’ll check it out, thanks
