Good evening everyone,
Yesterday my 2024 3500 threw this code at 6000 miles. I have had it for a month. I have read as much as I could understand on four different forums. I see that this has been an issue on 22s and 23s. I drive 25 miles to work and another 25 from work. 60-65 mph for the majority of the drive. I have the large cluster and I have watched the pdf gauge religiously. I have read that many people's gauges never leaves 0. Mine is very active. 10, 20, 30 and even 40%. Pretty much everyday it will go up to something, but it always goes back to 0. I figured it was regen properly. I usually use acc for my drive, I love it. When on ACC I use auto engine break and when using the pedal I use regular engine break. I chose not to contact my dealer yet, reset the code and pay even more attention. I can not "feel" my truck go into regen, I don't hear much, but I am always blasting my 17 speakers. lol. But seeing the gauge go up and back to 0 regularly, I assumed all was good. Until that code popped up. Should I call the dealer? Should I just keep driving and see what happens? Is my driving not good for this engine? The first 2600 miles where pulling 36' 5th wheel. Believe me, I have been reading and learning a lot since the code showed up yesterday. Thanks in advance
Shawn

It’s brand new, call the dealer. Secondly, a Banks iDash will notify you when it’s close and when it’s going into regen. My DPF gauge barely does anything (2022) but I can see what’s going on with the idash. The avg distance between regens on mine is currently 970 miles. Assuming the idash doesn’t lie.

It’s new, let the dealership look at it. Also, try using the Archoil fuel additive, start with the cleaner then use the daily treatment. Several of us have had success with using it when our truck is used as a DD. It helps the truck passively regen easier with some good hwy time, may help you reduce your amount of regens.

I will check it out, thank you. Is that kind of like sea foam in my H3? I know that helped clean the jets. Does this help clean the soot? Thanks

More info: So after clearing the code yesterday morning. I drove to work and the DPF gauge went up to 10%, on the ride home it hit 20%. This morning on the way to work it went up to 30% and then it started at 40% as I headed home. Driving 65 on the parkway home it went down to 30, then 20. So I decided to drive 10 more miles to the fancy gas station that my wife and I like to go to, lol. The extra 10 miles it went to 10% and then 0 just before I got to the station. Got out to fill up and could absolutely smell the burning smell. Maybe some vibration in the gas pedal as it regenerates? No CEL yet. Would the code have tripped because of how active my gauge is. I have seen it move up and down regularly since I have had it. I just thought it was doing as it should, it makes me worry when I see so many say their gauge never moves.

Do not clear the code if (when) it returns
Do not use any fuel additives (yet)
As soon as the P2459 reappears, contact your dealer and have them look at the truck.
This is a common issue for 2022+ trucks and they need to be held accountable for it. There are several trucks that have had this issue, some of which are regenerating extremely frequently. This issue can lead to further engine damage and it’s best to get the problem documented immediately. If they can’t get the truck fixed within the lemon law period, I would contemplate replacing the truck.

Thank you, this is exactly what my plan is.
