I have a 2012 ram 2500 6.7. Out of nowhere my truck started overheating. Has been running great. It is deleted. I just installed a monster ram intake. I was on my way home and truck red lined then cooled down. Then bounced between 220-240. Went home put a OEM thermostat in it. Overheated again. when I refilled the radiator I thought I might not have bled out all of the air. I bled out the air refilled, let cool, and bled again. Ran good for several days then same thing. I then changed water pump and radiator cap. Refilled, bled air several times. Was fine for about 2500 miles. I took a trip so this was in just over a week and now is overheating again. Any ideas? Why would it not suck water back from overflow? It is full.

I’d get some test strips to see if there are any combustion gasses in the coolant. That would let you know if there’s a head gasket problem.

Thanks for the input. It turned out to be a loose hose clamp where the EGR was delegated.

Easy one there, thanks for the follow up.
