Other camper shells that would fit a 5th gen?

I’m curious if anyone has successfully fit another camper shell onto a 5th gen Ram? I want to get one so I can bring my dog along. He’s a big dog and doesn’t fit in the quad cab with 2 kids seats in the back. I am a vendor for dealerships so I come across a lot of caps taken off trucks but haven’t found one yet. Got really close with a Silverado one the other day but it would have taken too many modifications to make it work.

It much help but some fit a 1500 topper on their 2500 in a recent post. If I remember he said they would fit back to a 2014 - 1500 as long as it was the short bed.

Since you mentioned both Quad Cab and 5th gen, I'm going to make the assumption that you're looking for a shell for a 1500, since the HDs are only on gen 4.5 and to my knowledge don't have a Quad Cab option.

So while the advice above is absolutely spot on for fitting a shell onto a 4.5gen HD with 6.4' bed, I don't believe it would hold the same value when looking at options for a 5th gen 1500.

If my assumptions are incorrect, please carry on. As mentioned, a shell from a 4th gen HD or one from a 4th gen 1500 Quad Cab w/ 6.4' bed should fit, though could require some adjustment due to CHMSL camera if equipped.
