Im picking up a dealer ordered 2025 Ram 2500 bighorn 6.4 hemi in a couple weeks. I believe it come with 160 amp alternator stock, what are my options if I want to put a larger inverter for camping and adding a plow down the road. I think it would be too costly to put a second alternator in. How do I up the alternator without voiding my warranty? Do I have to go through the dealer to have this done?

Do you know what size you want? Even the dual alternators only put out 200amp each. I went with the dual setup just because I wanted the extra juice just in case. Maybe ask the dealer if they could retrofit it with the dual setup.

Going to be a lot cheaper to not take delivery of that truck and just order one with duals already.

If you are intent on keeping it, you could check JS alternators or maybe Mechman.

The truck will come with a single 220 amp alternator.

If you are intent on more power I would personally find a truck with the factory duals, or have it retrofitted. As of right now I think the dealer would have to do the retrofit, because there isn’t aftermarket software that can enable the second alternator option on the 25+ trucks yet.
