Ok - one of you must have had this '21 2500 Laramie, what's the story?

I sold my '20 3500 SRW back to a local dealer earlier this year - there was nothing wrong with it, just took advantage of the inventory challenge facing dealers. I've been keeping an eye out for a "unicorn" and as we no longer have our 5th wheel, I don't have a need for a 3500 .. but I do like a HD truck and having had 2500's before, was looking to go back to one..

Ok so this is what I'm looking at:

2021 2500 Laramie

That has to be a factory order - a Laramie with upgraded 8.4, sunroof, air suspension and power running boards, plus I don't think I've ever seen that color on the lot (looks really cool in pictures).

Only 6200 miles - so I'm just wondering what the reason would be for unloading this basically brand new fully loaded "almost to a limited" truck... hmm ..

When in was looking for my '19, all the Laramie CTD trucks were trimmed out like this one so I don't know how special the option package is. That being said, it's a good looking truck and the price is pretty fair considering the market. Never hurts to go look, right??

It's not a high volume color but I have seen quite a few. Not on a lot of course, I haven't seen much of anything on a lot in almost 2 years.
The 8.4 is pretty standard on the new trucks, the 12" screen would be the "upgrade" and surprised it is not on this truck?

Probably traded because they got more then the paid. They are asking more then what the full MSRP was....

This is the other one I'm looking at - only it is a '19 Limited - and looking at sticker, MSRP was 82k... but I am, like many of you, hesitant on doing anything until seeing the fuel pump recall details.

Looks like this Limited is a better deal than the optioned Laramie.

Someone did the same thing your doing... taking advantage of dealer inventory shortages.

They probably got way more than they paid for it....I did on my 2021 Laramie with 10K miles....traded up.

Yes I am sure that's what was going on - I was just fishing (not expecting) for info, maybe even as lucky as someone seeing this who was previous owner and could say what they got for it ... but as of now it's going on the back burner. I get the whole supply vs demand, but there's is no f'ing way I would pay more for a used truck then what MSRP was lol ... and yea I know a "6k mile 2021" is hardly used in reality, but when it comes to the money, it is still a used truck... I guess I'll keep waiting. Sooner or later people have got to start coming around on paying ridiculous mark ups for vehicles (new or used). I am hoping by end of 2022 we start seeing some dealers squirming for deals...

They gave me 9K more than I owed on my 2021 3500 DRW. Some friends have looked in to what they could get on trade and that seems to be about the range depending on what you owe of course.

If that truck meets your needs probably a good deal.

I had no intentions of ordering a new truck until... dealer offered me what I paid for my '18 2500 four years ago and was able to order a new 3500 Limited at dealer invoice. Reading what others are purchasing at ie 4 percent less than invoice I am still quite happy with the deal.

$9K more than I owe would be less than 50% of the truck's value.

$9K more than I paid would still put me at less than market value.

How does that figure have any relevance?

j/k, just pulling your chain.

Genuinely curious what makes this truck a “unicorn”? Seems like a pretty standard “well equipped” Laramie truck, other than the color?

I think my Power Wagon is a bit of a unicorn since it’s a got the Towing Tech Package (surround view cameras and BSM) but is Level 1 (heated cloth seats) and non-nav 8.4 radio. Most PW I’ve seen with the TTG are L2+ (Leather) and 12” screen

Ya ,thought about trading in my 21 in. Just figure my trade in could drop drastically before the new one was built..

Most of the '19-'21 2500 Laramies where I am are showing up as basic Laramie "1" packages, previous rentals, no power running boards no sunroof and certainly no air suspension. Still, moot because I'm not paying above MSRP on a used truck. But the discussion is always interesting!

When looking I stumbled on my Limited with 3,660 miles on it. Worked a killer deal for way less than a new Laramie and bought it. The Limited is definitely nice inside and I love my RAMBoxes.
