Oil filter reveal-first oil change

When ever I break a motor in or get a new me motor. I like to cut the filter open and inspect the filter elements.

After 5200 miles I changed the oil in my 2022 6.7 Cummins (SO). And got a look into the filter. I’m quite pleased with the outcome. Only had 3 micro-micro specs show up.

My guess is the few specs you found are castings from the block itself, nothing to worry about there. I'm honestly surprised there is not more in the filter, thanks for sharing.
