Searched but didn't find the answer.
What is the Oil Capacity for the 2020 6.4 Hemi?
I did not see it listed in the manual (may have missed it though)
Thanks and sorry for the dumb post!

Says seven, but when I empty the oil and swap the filter, about 6 gets me damn near full, i probably don't let it drain more than 10-15 minutes, so it may be retaining some. I know when I put 7 in there I had to drain some back out to get it in the safe range, i’m not messing around with over-filling.

I just changed my 2020 PW for the first time at 1111 miles and it was full on the dipstick right before I drained it. I had the Oil temp up to 212F. Let it drain until it was done probably over 30 minutes. I then measured the oil I removed and it was close to 6.25 qts. I did not really dump all the oil out of the filter so I know a little was retrained there but hard to say how much. I then dumped the full 7 quarts in and drove around until the oil temp was back up to 212F and parked in my garage and let it set 1/2 hour or so checked for leaks and found none. I checked dip stick and the oil was full and in the same place it was prior to changing. I now have 2000 miles and I just checked it as it has been parked for a day and oil level has not moved at all. One day I will invest in an oil filter crusher so I can see how much oil the filter actually retains. Based on where my dipstick level is 6 qts would be low but 6.5 probably would be close enough but 7 at least on the first change was not too much. I will be changing again probably after about 3000 miles and then I will increase to 5000 or so. I don't mind wasting money on oil changes :).

I just had the second oil change on my 6.4 hemi @ 9,000 miles and the Dodge Tech sat 7 Quarts of Mobil 1 on his workbench and I saw him dump it all in!

Sam:)

Why would do 2 oil changes in the 1st 9k miles? You should easily and safely get 7500+ out of the full synthetic in the Hemi.

I will have done 3 by the time I hit 9000 miles. I changed the first time at 1111. I have been driving since the early 70's and I know it is a waste of money but it makes me feel good and I have never once had a bit of engine trouble in any vehicle and I have always changed oil early for the first 3 or 4 oil changes and then increased to 6000 mile intervals and it has served me well.

It's full synthetic! 7500 minimum and it's likely completely safe to 15,000 miles. Unless you're driving through daily sandstorms in Dubai, there's no benefit to throwing away money on short changes.

Doesn't matter if full synthetic or not, new engines introduce swarf into the oil for a few thousand miles. my new 6.4, oil was black at 2000 miles and I changed it. We have given you our reasons, no need to force your education on us any further.

Color isn't much of an indicator of much other than color... and if you don't want to be educated, then why are you here on the forum if not to share information (which is education by the way)

This is a UOA on a 2017 2500 running 0w-40.
NO idea on mileage on the truck... unless someone can find a UOA on a 3K mile oil change.
7200 mile change was AMSoil
8000 mile change was PuP

Let the man change his oil when he wants...before they take that away from us too.
Two things I don't understand..when someone wants to spend my money and when someone does not want me to spend my money. If someone wants to change oil at 25,000 mile intervals more power to them..if they want to change it at 500 mile intervals more power to them. I know if I were buying used regardless of what an oil report said if I had two similar vehicles that I was looking at and the oil in one was changed at 3000 mile intervals and the other at 7500 or 10,000 intervals I know which one would be of more interest to me. I am pretty set in my ways lol.
