Odometer and fuel range in miles vs Km ? Pre delivery Canadian Truck

Hi fellas, I’m here for a second opinion. My new truck arrived at the dealership here in Canada and when I drove it on Saturday I noticed the odometer and the file range were both marked “mi” for miles instead of km.

Now, to the untrained eye (mine) it looks like the “mi” is printed on the back of the bezel and not a digital or variable thing, but with these new dashboards I don’t know.

It’s my understanding that to be legal here they have to be in km.

Sales guys said they all arrive like that and get converted before delivery. So… my sceptical and ocd brain is asking …. I’d that the case? Are they converted, is the “mi” vs “km “ a variable on the dash and not printed on?

Thanks for any replies.

There is a setting within the Uconnect that allows you to select US or Metric which I believe may also change the temp from F to C.

I can't recall whether the speedometer automagically changes at the same time, but if not it can be toggled back and forth in the EVIC using the buttons on the steering wheel.

U connect screen you can select imperial, metric or custom so you can change different settings and not have everything stuck in crappy metric settings

As long as your speedo has the KPH in large size not MPH then the gauges are canadian spec all the digital stuff can be changed

Here in Canada we live in the metric system. We are all Kilometres and litres here

Ah, I see. I have no issue with metric. And as much as I dislike Justin Castro…I mean Justin Trudeau, I blame him for a lot of things, but not the metric system.

It was the first Trudeau (the fake father of the current turd in office) disaster that brought in the metric system back in the 70s-mid 80s. Not the child of castro that we have in office now

Ah, that makes sense. I was just a kid, fresh of the boat from the UK when Pierre was in office, never paid much attention to it back then. Just grew up with metric.
