Hey everybody! After traveling 1300 miles this Thanksgiving, I'm really ready to change out the brakes on my 24 Rebel 6.4. They are just too soft and don't seem to grip as well as I remember my old 2500s braking. Anyway, I have never changed brakes on any of my previous trucks, so I have a few questions that hopefully some of you can answer...
1- Is there a video/tutorial that is recommended to watch before diving in? I'm definitely a visual learner, so I'm sure this is a good way to check how involved this will be. I've looked on YouTube, but I have no real reference of which is a good video or a trap waiting to happen.
2- I'm leaning towards Powerstop rotors and pads. From what I've read, these just bolt right up using existing hardware and have really good reviews. Is this a safe option? I rarely tow, so I'm just stopping the weight of the truck itself.
3- Should the brake fluid be changed now as well? I don't see anything in the maintenance schedule about ever changing it. It just says to monitor and add if needed. That can't be right, can it?
Well, thanks in advance to anyone that chimes in on any of these things. I really appreciate it!
