On Friday we picked up our new-to-us 2019 3500 Bighorn Hemi maxcab 4x and it's fantastic.
It's pretty basic. Cloth seats, no driver assistance items. I plan to upgrade to OEM LEDs. From what I've read, that's pretty straightforward unless I want the adaptive headlights (which I do!) but I couldn't find a clear description of how someone has done it. And while we have the 8.4" UConnect, which I really like, I am considering upgrading to the 12 inch. We'll see how this goes. Other planned upgrades are the LED bar behind the lower grill and I'd like to install short LEDs in the grill, as I've seen on some 1500s. And I need some wheels for a set of studded Nokian Hakkapeliittas, because I don't think these Firestone tires are going to do the job this winter but I'm sure they'll be fine in the summer.
We bought via CarMax and the entire process took us about six weeks, which does not seem to be a typical cycle for them. There were a bunch of title issues and CarMax doesn't do home delivery in PA, so we had a long drive to pick it up. On the way home, we noticed a pretty strong smoke smell, which really erased our car buying excitement. And when I got home, I found some bubbling paint on the back corner of the bed exterior / rear quarter. I'm already in touch with Carmax who are giving all indications that they'll take care of this. I'll likely start a thread sharing our experience so that others know how Carmax works.
That's it. Excited to join this seemingly helpful and kind community.
