This is my first 3/4 ton truck. Had a few Tundras over the past 15 years. Tracking down a Mega Cab with the options I wanted required a 1600 mile round trip to Miami but so far it seems worth it.

Looking forward to learning more about these HD diesels.

Initial focus will be on taming the stiff suspension that I understand is inherent. Leaning towards Thuren since I want to keep factory wheels and tires and am okay with some rake.

What do you plan on doing with the truck, any towing or heavy hauling? Just be aware that "taming" the stiff suspension (it's stiff for a reason) could affect your payload capacity and towing stability.

I occasionally tow a skid steer with attachments or a tractor which typically is under 10k including trailer. My Tundra was capable of anything I needed it to do but it did not like it and the fuel mileage was horrible and frankly inconvenient when going more than a few hundred miles! I flat towed a Honda CRV 800 miles back from the dealership with the Ram and averaged 17-18 MPG, which I thought was pretty good.

At some point we may sell our Class A RV and move to a travel trailer or short 5th wheel, but even then I would imagine we will be well under 12k (unsure of 5th wheel payload - would need to research). I figure I could add airbags down the road if necessary.

Hope I'm on the right track and appreciate any input.
