Ok guys help me to understand how my UOAs reports that were taken over the past 2 years showed fuel contamination {tested by GC not flash point} to be between 4.7% & 4.38 % that suddenly went down to 1.9% GC tested on this UOA (compared to the guess-a-mate of 2.2% before I had the lab rerun current oil through GC that showed a lower #) the oil had 6553 miles at time sample was taken, the only thing different on this oil run was a 4544 mile 2 week vacation (truck was empty) and I used 5w40 Amsoil DEO this oil run instead of 5w40 ADO last oil run that came back with 4.38% fuel contamination… Miles on truck 22,735 at sample time. I'm very happy with the much lower fuel contamination numberer, yet I scratch my head thinking, how the heck did that happen....

Probably less soot loaded regens and more efficient regens from being on the road for long periods

Sounds like your truck has done more regens on the previous oil changes. Do you get mostly soot based regens?

Since I started using Archoil {16+ months) all regens my have been 24 hour regens not due to soot load, all my 24 hr regens for the last year plus last between 18 and 23 minutes, about the same amount of time for regens I noticed during my long trip an also after, if I used the number of regens on the oil at time of sample 5 and divide that number to the fuel contamination number 1.9% means each regens contaminates the oil at 0.38% :( but to be safe will add one an use 6 that changes it to 0.3166% per regen... Also the soot in the oil was estimated to be <.1 that number has been constant since my first full year oil run UOA back in 11/2023... I attached a before and after trip regens times photos...

That’s a lot of fuel for 24 hour intervals. How much is your oil growing on the dipstick? 5% would be over 1/2 a quart of fuel, about 25% of the way from add to full.

Before I started Archoil regens could take up to 55 minutes so seeing it down to 23 or less I thought was great, I guess I was very wrong... First photo below of the dip stick is from 6/18/2024 second the last one was taken a few weeks ago, the one is the center I forgot to date but it was back when GC showed 4.7% fuel contamination that I was told by my local dealer service manager was okay, no need to worry

Making oil is definitely not ok, or normal. They should be able to do something for you… but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

The last few times I brought it up its like that very small rise on dip stick means its only a very small amount of less then a half pint so don't worry about it, even when I had Cummins UOA showing 4.7% contamination was told its okay no need to worry its normal, will do no harm, but your correct they will not do a darn thing to help...
