Is it at all a good idea, to replace the lifters, before they damage the camshaft.
I just bought this rig last night, and it is running very well, with no engine noise or clatter from lifters, but, knowing that this is an issue, would it be advised to replace stock lifters with something better, before the can get damaged??

send an oil sample in to blackstone labs and see if there are any signs of excessive metals in the oil. how many miles are on it?

You're probably thinking of an MDS delete kit.

Most problems come from people not changing the oil when they should and/or not using the correct oil.

I will need to do some home work, as I don't know what the MDS is or how it affects the lifters or the oil.

I am make a huge assumption, that I am not having any issues yet, so there for, don't see the point of getting my oil anylized. If there is a chance the oil is contaminated from the lifters wearing, I'd hear the clatter by now, and then, I'd have to do it anyway. I'm just trying to be pro-active, and do it before I have some sort of catastrophic failure.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Just change your oil on time and if you start to hear any ticking noises that weren't there before then have it looked at. Hemis are also common for exhaust manifold leaks that can tick when cold so a tick isn't always a lifter issue. The lifter issue, while being a somewhat problematic thing, isn't as common as the interwebs would lead you to believe. Think of the 100's of thousands of Hemis out there that have never had any issues.

Also don't get caught up on deleting MDS. A lot of people will say deleting it will take car of the inherent lifter issue but it doesn't. I've seen plenty of non MDS lifters wipe out cams too.

Just change your oil, be aware of any new noises, drive and enjoy it! If anything try and limit excess idle time which seems to be one of the leading causes of problems due to cam location way up in the block and above a main oil passage. Doesn't get a lot of splash lubrication at idle.

My 2021 Ram 2500 hemi had a long block replaced at 4423 miles due to lifter problems. A lifter roller seized and sent metal through the oil. The new engine has 1500 miles on it and I see metal shavings in the oil when I check the oil. I know a new engine will show some metal but what I see is glitter size. When the truck was new I was getting around 11 mpg in town and around 17 on the highway. Then it dropped to around 5 to 6 in town and 12 to 13 on the highway. I also had a loss of power and a rough idle. I am having the same symptoms with the new engine. Chrysler Customer Service was great until I got the truck back. They brought up the subject of compensating me for my troubles. Everything I asked for they said no. We were in the middle of coming up with something and they closed my case. I have emailed them and have heard nothing. I called them and the person that answered the phone acted like they didn't want to mess with it and said he would have the original representative call me. That was a week ago and I have heard nothing. You would think that someone who bought two of these trucks last year wouldn't do you like this. The first one that I bought was a great running truck that was getting good mileage and had plenty of power. It lasted six days and had less than 500 miles on it when it was totaled out. These trucks just aren't the same after getting hit right at head on by a 18 wheeler at 70 mph that came into my lane and rolling down the highway 3 times. I am to the point of wanting to trade it in and get a diesel but I am hearing some bad things about those. Some of the new diesels are on a stop sale due to catching on fire. I read where they are catching on fire with the key off. I also read on this forum where oil and fuel filters are in short supply.
