My first diesel was a 2004 Chevy Duramax. It was fast and could pull a heavy trailer very well. I didn't know about the model years of these diesel trucks and they're possible problems. I've since owned a 2016 Tradesman 6.7 and my favorite truck, a 2018 3500 6.7 SLT with level 2 equipment group. I'm now on my 5th truck since 2011, when I got my Duramax. I have a 2021 Big Horn with the 5.7 non e-torq and 3.92 gears now. We have a 24' travel trailer that weighs 5,500lbs loaded for traveling and the truck does pretty well. We did a 3,500 mile trip to Mississippi and then back through New Mexico and Eastern Arizona and the truck performed well. I'm one of those guys that's never happy, and I've been looking at a 2022 Laramie 6.4 with the 3.73 gears and a 2022 3500 with 4.10's. I'm a old jeeper and trucker and know how important gears are for crawling or hwy driving. We're in our 60's and probably won't upgrade the trailer at this point in our lives. I've been thinking about a diesel again, but really leaning towards the Laramie with the 3.73's.

I joined yesterday posting about possibly buying a 2022 Laramie 2500 or 3500 with the 6.4. Both trucks have been used by both dealers as loaners I presume. They're both in the Phoenix area and the 3500 has been with the same dealer since new. I'm leaning towards the 3500 because it has 4.10 axle ratios. I asked for a picture of the idle hours and they are 437 idle, and 843 driving. I haven't asked for the hours on the 2500. With both trucks living in Phoenix, I guess one would expect a little more high idle than normal.

After sleeping on it last night stick with my 1500. I installed Air Lyft 1000hd bags shortly after the first tow to help with the little bit of sag, and I'm running Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT 10ply tires to help firm up towing ride. Knock on wood, after two years of ownership, I've not had any problems with it. I hope ya'll don't mind if I come back and visit now and then?
