My 1996 Ford F-150 died with over 200k on it, so I decided to get a new Ram as a retirement present. I was working as a govt contractor and we drove Rams for work trucks and had our own vehicle maintenance shop. I asked one of the mechanics what he thought of them and he said he liked them very much and was getting one himself. So I ordered a 2500 hemi (...I couldn't justify the addition +$9k for diesel) w/ 4wd and towing (for an ultralight trailer). The gas mileage is a bit lower than I expected (but better than my Ford). I'm gonna get a shell for it which should add a couple MPG's. So far, other than the uconnect glitches, I like it.

Good luck with it, welcome aboard!

Welcome to the group. Just as an FYI, I wouldn't plan on seeing much, if any, increase in MPG with a cap. Modern trucks have their roofline and top of tailgate designed to minimize wind disturbance and thus you're not really gaining much with a cap from that pov. If you get 0.5mpg then I'd be surprised. Caps are awesome though, so you should totally get one just for the utility.

I'm getting a cap anyway. Most of my mileage is highway. In the city I would expect it to lower the mileage due to the added weight.
