So new civilian diesel owner here, just picked up my new 19 2500 and now it's the constant oil additives barrage from my friends. We never used them in the Army and I did a bit of trucking and we didn't use them then. Is there any real benefit from running stuff like Hot Shots Secret stiction eliminator in the oil? I know the daily fuel treatment is worth it via the low sulfur diesel but is the oil stuff needed too?

Snake oil. Don't do it.

Power Service in the fuel if you're worried about gelling in extreme cold.

Give it clean fuel and change the filters when service is called for.
And I have to admit- I threw up a little in my mouth agreeing with brutal!

JK...I’ve read numerous posts of his on here and he is spot on !

I started using the Hot Shots Secret EDT after my first tank. Before i was only getting 13.9 mpg. First tank it increased to 14.9 and second its at 16.5. Is it BS? I'm not complaining. I do run 4 oz per 50 gallons for the "performance dose" I bought a gallon of it and figured it cost me 0.02-4 cents extra a gallon. If i can get +1 mpg over 13.9, it pays for itself. so far, so good.

p.s. buy it direct from their website for the best deal (Specials, first responder/military discounts)
