Welcome aboard.

I joined every CTD board that was available in 2004 when I bought my 04.5 HO.

Drank from a firehose the first year or so then when I needed to do mods or later repairs, but didn't spend much time on any of them. I may have lost my account on a few as they migrated or aged out members.

Got back on the horse when I ordered the 2020.

Are you pulling the boat also? Our Keystone "2020 34IK Cedar Creek" receiver not recommended for pulling but for about 700 pounds of gear. Did you have that professionally installed to handle the boat?

I am double towing the boat.

The pre 2019 Grand Design receivers were bike carriers only, not tow rated. The 2019+ are more substantial and tow rated 350/3500.

I had a custom made hitch receiver frame bolted on my old Cougar 290RK that I removed and re-installed on the GD after cutting off the brackets used by the factory bike carrier hitch.

The shop that built the hitch for my Cougar in 2004 said it was rated 500/5000. Lots of pre 19 GD owners just have the carrier hitch reinforced/triangulated and add wiring and safety chain loops. Some go fully welded custom, mostly those pulling +5K boats and crawler trailers.

I would only add that the crap Lippert (LCI) frame on my 04 Cougar had to be repaired twice. The front overhang part around the pinbox and the outboard frame rails cracked, not the rear. Too much stress for the Chicom steel I guess.
