Thanks for the add. Just purchased a 2500 Regular Cab Tradesman 6.4 today. Haven’t taken delivery yet. That happens tomorrow the 14th.

That’s always an exciting feeling. Like a kid on Christmas Eve. Welcome aboard!

Welcome and congrats on the purchase. Post some pics once you take possession.

Welcome! Nice to see another RCLB on the forum. Post up some pictures when you get a chance, we like pictures around here.

A few here commented that I should have gotten a 3500 instead of the 2500 for hauling a camper. I only wanted a regular cab and I wanted only a long bed. The crew cabs decrease the payload substantially and I wasn't going to drive a long bed crew cab as a daily driver. The difference between the payload of a 4x4 2500 and a 4x4 3500 is about 9%, unless you get a dually which makes it close to double. The dealer I purchased from happened to have a 3500 dually and I drove it just for grins. 7680 payload but the ride was too much. In searching for a 3500 SRW I saw there were none to be found within 250 miles of where I live. The camper I’ll be using, most likely a 4WD Camper or similar, haven’t picked one yet, will not be over 2000 lbs. so that leaves me at least 1500 pounds to play with.
i suppose leaf springs versus coil springs would be better but I’m sure I’ll be able to deal with and modify if I feel I need to. The deal I got on the Ram was too good to ignore. I had no interest in a Ford and wasn’t liking the GDI on the Chevy.

I’m really loving this truck and thanks to everyone who gave me some great information here. Looking forward to share more.

I don't think you'll have any issues with a 4wd camper on the 2500. You can always add airbags if you need them. I don't blame you for skipping the GDI on the Chevy.
