Hello all I just became a Ram owner about 3 weeks ago. I bought a Ram 2500 crew cab bighorn 4x4 6.4 hemi in White. I live in Kingman and bought it at Larry Miller in Avondale (near Phoenix) AZ. It currently has 700 miles and has been to the dealer once already. Turning left over a rough or uneven area of asphalt causes a very noticeable rattle/clunking that can also be felt in the floor board. Feels like worn out front end components. With 700 miles I’m not saying anything is worn, just that’s what it feels like. Of course the dealer said, “we couldn’t duplicate the problem.” They told me to take a video of the issue, so I did. But as I already knew on an iPhone video you can hear it but barely. Definitely need to be inside the cab to hear and feel this issue. I took it in at about 650 miles and also requested they change the oil and filter since I believed at about 600 the new engine would be broken in. They called and said don’t waste your money, you have 91% oil life remaining. I bought 14 quarts and two mopar filters and plan on changing it this weekend.

I was tempted to be a wise guy and say just take right turns, problem solved, but that seems mean ..... :)

I would ask the sales guy that sold it to you to go for a ride, or preferably the head of service, with you in the cab and them driving so you can tell them where to turn, experience it together. Hard to say what it might be .... wheel bearing, lost bushing in steering components come to mind.

Silly question .... have you cycled it into 4WD, then out of 4WD, a few times? I know you know what 4WD around corners feels like, but wondering about half shaft issues.

Hey Dave that wouldn’t be mean at all, in fact I may have to take that advice. I have engaged 4x4 a couple times and I do know how it feels when it’s engaged and turning on asphalt. I’m going to take it back to the dealer next week right now they are doing the route 66 drag races right in front of the dealership this weekend so I don’t wanna mess with it until next week. I’m going to ask most the service rider and possibly a mechanic if I can talk to one if he’ll take a ride with me because right behind their dealership is a left-hand turn that causes that issue. Some dealerships won’t do ride alongs like that with their mechanics I’m prepared to slip him a 50 each if that will get them in the truck.
