In East Texas, just bought a high-mile '15 2500 BGE that is clean as a pin and loaded with Laramie trim. I needed a tow vehicle for the occasional trip dragging my little Hot Rod Caddy to the drag strip.
I am not going to daily the truck, so the 185K miles don't worry me too much. Of course, it will need ball joints, I'm certain. The truck drives very well and is very quiet.
I haven't had a Dodge since the '01 Cummins all those years ago...
Should I be paranoid about the lifters at this mileage?
Any particular failure area on these trucks that should addressed as a precaution?
Thanks for havin' me!

Welcome aboard, share some pics!

I’d start by going through all fluids and reassess.

Looks like the first thing I'm tackling is the ball joints! What a place to start out. The little rattle as buggin' me!
I discovered that someone has been into the passenger side... and changed the upper and I'm not sure WHAT they were doing to the lower(?) Looks like they gave it a whack or two and gave up(?)
On the driver side, it looks like it's never been touched! The little rotor-clips from the assembly line are still there... SIX of them! It's getting all the ball joints and wheel hubs at this time.
Brake pads are great, tie rods are surprisingly tight.
The truck runs perfectly, no ticks-taps-knocks... but of course, those miles are a little troubling.
I will be cutting open the oil filter plus freshening all the fluids. The "build sheet" list I found online shows that it has the "anti-spin" rear diff; could you tell me if that refers to a clutch type or a Torsen type LSD? What fluid and or additive is required?
I just realized that I don't have any interior pics. It has leather and no tears or worn bolsters, no stains or scratches...

I will soon be replacing the side step with the chrome factory-style wheel-to-wheel boards and the lighting will be swapped with Morimoto pieces.
And an RSI SmartCap shell.

I replaced the ball joints and both front wheel bearing/hub assemblies; got the front end alignment done this morning, drives MUCH better! No rattles!
Also upgraded the headlamps with these Morimoto XBs and the difference is immense!

Thanks!
I added an RSI SmartCap to the truck...
I think I am going to remove the leveling kit soon.

Added the camper shell and now, a bedslide from Decked. I'm setting this up to pull my small car hauler with a heavy car on it. Several hundred pounds of tongue weight anticipated and the "leveling kit" has got to go, as has just the opposite effect vs what I need. I imagine it will squat possibly too much as is, with the tools on board. Removing the leveling kit also ended a particularly annoying noise(!)
Chrome wheel-to-wheel running boards to replace the nFab units will help with appearance AND bed access.
