Hey everyone. I've been stalking the forum for a few months (Rich, you crack me up, keep it going). Now working to find a cooperative dealer to place an order. Planning on getting a 2500 Limited in Delmonico Red (this was the hardest part of the whole thing), level 1, with a Hemi. You guys have been a big help thus far and will only be a bigger help once I get this order over with.

Any must have or have not options? Level 1. Off road. Body color bumpers. Bed Step. Anti Spin. 4.10.

Since you've been stalking me, id be honored to be your first reply.. it's just who i am, rumble, young man rumble. So long story short, i got mine pretty much fully loaded and love all the extras but am not the first to admit that fca could of done allot better job with there technology in electronics. My only second guess I'm not sure I would of made again was the $450 Aux Trailer Cam technology. You still have to spend another $600 after that and the only camera you can currently get is mopar version and it sucks, it sucks bad, and has big huge wire harnesses you have to deal with. I bought the kit then returned it a wk later. I hate that I spent the money on the capability but I'm hopeful that someday they will have a better design I can purchase to of made it worth it. Could go on and on about the technological improvements fca should of made but that wasn't your question.
My dealer in Benton Arkansas was awesome and I drove a very long way out of my way to do buisness with them and imop it paid off big time at Campbell's cdjr. Ask for Mark whittle and tell him you know rich, and he'll tell you some stories. Btw, u have good taste in forums and those who u stalk. :p

Antispin definitely. 4.10 and HEMI are a good combo if you tow often.
Body color bumpers are nicer imho but they chip way more easily than chrome. So I got mines protected by film.
Surround camera: I first thought it would be a cool gadget. Like I never had one before and still managed to get through life... Lol... But I love it. Rear view and surround makes everything so easy. In tight parking situations, there is no comparaison.

Welcome to HDRams!

Make sure you sit down and go through all the options available on Dealer Connect with the dealer so you know exactly what is and is not available for the trim level you're looking at. It also helps to have a good understanding of what's on the build site. However, the two never seem to match so be cautious with that.

I'm with @MikeXM on the surround cameras. This new truck is 1' longer wheelbase/body and taller than my 04.5 2500 so having that when navigating tight spaces is a godsend.

I would have loved to get the non chrome setup but couldn't stomach the chipping and rash that would come with it. If it's a fair weather pavement cruiser, do the body colored stuff.

Ordered.

Mike - definitely getting film on the front. You’re right about the chips, just don’t want a face full of chrome.

Rich - thanks for the referral, but most of this was in motion already.

Brutal - thanks for the tips

I don't know how it will hold up long term but I got the sport pkg with all painted front and rear and I love it so far. It's only got 5000 miles on it though, but I'd say I'm pretty hard on it as we travel all the time and its constantly taking a beating from road grime and debris and the amount of bug guts and bodies that I have to take a pretty firm scrub brush to to get to remove with alot of muscle power. Ours held up and cleans up like new so far. I just love the all painted front on mine as it looks very classy and I'm glad I didn't go with the chrome look or just the painted bumpers, thats just my preference though.

Incidentally, my first scratch on the truck was on the rear bumper. Right under the foot rest (where the licence plate is). Was full of dirt and I guess my foot made contact with the painted bumper.
Anyway, I gave it a compound rub and it went away. But that was enough for me to go ahead and film the rear bumper as well.
