Found the site before I bought my 2020 3500 ho tradesman September of 20, mainly looking for ideas for lockers and winch mounts because I use the truck for my landscaping/tree/firewood business. I intended on a plow, back plow, and at least a winch, but likely a locker because I'm off the road often.
Love the content, love the cummins, its my second one and still swear by them despite the issues outlined below..
But I haven't had the truck continuously enough to justify spending anything other than what's necessary to drive it.

Had about 2 months great of use, towing 10k daily, enjoying the truck, until the cp4 failed. Replaced under warranty of course at about 5k And now I've visited the dealer at least every month since for the same or a different issue. Going on 7 days this visit, aisin is slipping or the software gave up..at 22k miles. These are the issues that matter most to me but there are others.
Reason for joining and this post is that despite an ongoing case with fca and the dealer doing the best they can, I can't ever get a clear answer as to when I will have a reliable truck again.

And my season is starting so I need to tow 10-14k daily again, been towing overweight with my old truck(83k30) all week.
Business is doing pretty good but I wasn't planning on adding another truck to my fleet but nobody can get me a loaner, nor will they help pay for a rental that can actually tow anything.

So do I buy an older truck($30-60k) to use while they figure this out? Looking at 2013-17 6.7 manual trucks but they are hard to find or even a 22 if the bugs are worked out.
First new truck ever..lesson learned. Went from a 40 yr old 1 ton chevy towing overweight for 3 yrs with a built 454 to this truck and my old truck saves the day each time this one heads to the service department.
Closest truck rental is far, and they want an exorbitant amount to rent a 1 ton and fca will only cover about 20% of the cost.
I wanted this truck so bad and thought I was buying my dream truck but it has been a nightmare.
Any input is greatly appreciated. I know from older threads that I'm not the only one.
Ben
