Currently on foot as I'm overseas, but have a slot to order a 2023 HD from AAFES when the ordering window opens. It should arrive about the same time I return CONUS. I'm a Dodge/Ram fan and have previously owned: 1978 D200 Powerwagon, 1978 Ramcharger, and a 2013 1500 limited diesel. Hoping the Cummins outperforms the Chebby Dirtymax I parted with prior to my OCONUS tour (No Ram available when I needed to purchase a HD truck.)

Welcome to the forum.

I spent a few years on Mother Rucker. Loved Alabama.

Welcome.
Depends what you mean by outperform... the result from a drag race will be different from pulling a trailer. But the interior...there's really no competition right now.
Also, the only diesel I would own other than a Cummins would be a Duramax.

My major concerns are trailering and fuel economy. The DuraMax did a good job pulling a 14K lb trailer to and from Alaska. The fuel economy was 6 mpg no matter how hard I pushed. It towed wonderfully, but the distance between fuel stations made part of the trip dicey. I never passed a fuel station when I dropped below 1/2 tank and carried 10 gallons in jerry cans just in case a station was closed. I needed to dip into my reserve once.
