Hello and thanks you for allowing me to join.
I am in the marker for my 2nd Ram Truck. My first was a 2015 1500 Bighorn and I loved it. I traded it away a few months ago for a F350 (6.4 Powerstroke)
One of the worst ideas I have ever had, but it was because my TT was just a bit much for the 1500,and in advance of going to a larger 5th Wheel.
After taking a hard look at my daily driving and towing needs, I think a 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi and a 4.10 rear end will suit my needs.
I am a Texas Native, but have retired to Colorado and live at the base of the Front Range. My current TT is about 8500 pounds, and I expect my 5th Wheel not exceed 12k. Most of my towing will be within 3 hours of home and up only 1 pretty easy to climb pass Ute Pass 9100 ft and 5.5% grade. Maybe 1 time a year I will have to cross one of the larger passes like Ike or Wolf Creek which hit 7+%.
I think the main reason to go back to a gasser is my daily commute to work is less than 6 miles, and if I put more than 15 miles on my truck a day, I was busy.
Such is the life of a retired Army vet that was told to get a job by his wife....lol
Thanks again
McG
