Finding a truck and negotiating a fair price was TOUGH with the market in its current state. Super happy with the trade. The Gladiator was a failed experiment for me for sure. Too small, not as comfortable as I'd hoped, etc. All things I should have known going in.

Anyways, here she is.....

Welcome, congrats on the new truck. I never could get past the Gladiator's pricing for what it was.

Couldnt agree more. The Gladiator was relatively slow/gutless, gets terrible fuel mileage, is really unrefined (HVAC sucks, rain gutter pisses on your lap everytime.) All of that for $62K well equipped.

Good upgrade.
Buddy had rented one when he was out my way for work. I "stole" it for a lunch run.
That was enough for me to know I didnt want one. Too cramped interior. Not much better than the original 1950s Willys truck I almost bought for a project truck.

I'm ashamed to admit the "Cool Factor" is probably what got me into the Gladiator. People saying "sweet Jeep" everywhere you go gets old pretty fast. Also, I hated the stupid Jeep wave. I live in the mountains near Seattle and I swear everybody drives a Jeep. Waving to strangers 30 times a day is stupid.

Good choice. It is odd. When I picked up my Power Wagon, I got it out the door for over $10k less than a Gladiator Rubi they had.

Let's see: larger tuck, winch, gobs more torque and power, significantly stronger axles, factory lift, much greater towing capacity, both have lockers, both have disco's...go figure.

Agreed 100%. IMO the thing that drives up the Rubicons Price (and value) is that "cool guy factor." Its weird concept really.

I explored the idea of chasing a RAM TRX before I bought the HD and actually decided I wanted nothing more to do with "Cool Guy" vehicles. Prefer a solid, capable, reliable truck that doesnt draw too much attention from the random strangers on the road.

Not to hijack the thread but, does anyone think the used truck market will be flooded with gladiators in 3-4 years?

I've heard on a few forums I'm on of people being unhappy with their Gladiator and dumping it for either a wrangler or a true pickup.

Not sure about flooded but I'm sure you will see a lot of them up for sale, especially when the payment terms are nearing the end and people are back to a point of having enough equity in the truck to be able to sell it. At least that my thoughts on it
