So my last truck was a 07 F150. Before that a 05 F350 SCREW (ya 6.0 I know). Recently I was driving a LR3 that left me on the side of the road twice. So with that I decided it was time for another truck.
This will be hauling my soon to be rebuilt 1969 Alaskan Camper.
I looked at Ford, Ram and GMC/Chevy.
Never been a fan of GMC/Chevy trucks (more of a Ford guy)
Aside from not liking the new Fords looks, the modern ones turn like school buses and their engines are suspect. They have gone WAY down since the 80/90's
That left the Ram. I like the looks the front, and it overall. The engines are solid and Ram seems to be concentrating on building a great truck. So the hunt was on.
I did not want Diesel as I would never make use of it. So gas was it.
What I ended up with.
Tradesman 6.4L Crewcab SRW, Longbox 4x4. in Granite Crystal. I only needed a few options like the bed lights, the 8.4" radio, 4.10 gears and LSD, spray in bedliner.
It came with the 5th wheel package and the Snowplow group (not Snow Chief), carpeted floors, rubber mats and that is about it. No sunroof.....finally!
I bought it off the lot as I could not wait another day and drive an unreliable vehicle. While I would have preferred to order one, that was not in the cards.
I am enjoying the heck out of it and glad I picked this truck.
Future plans.
Bed cover
Rear bumper step
Hidden winch
Maybe the 50gal tank (need to see if the dealer can upgrade this) as there is one available and the only thing I was missing.
