I just bought my last truck and it’s my first diesel. It’s a 2022 3/4 ton. I bought it used, and didn’t trust the dealer/seller maintenance so just did it myself. The truck has just over 30k miles now, and I just just did a oil/filter change, air filter, fuel filter and water separator change (all Mopar except for the Fram air filter). I went with the 10w-30 weight oil recommended for this Texas heat, and bought the only brand I could find in stock of Chevron Delo 400 XLE (full synthetic). I hope that’s not a bad thing. I plan to use Valvoline Premium Blue in the future, I just have to buy it in advance. My real question is the oil pressure at idle. After this maintenance, my oil pressure (as per the digital dash readout) is straight in the middle at 30psi at idle. This just seems high to me. Is that where it should be? Answer that, then gimme those other new diesel guy tips that you know I need. Thanks in advance.

First off 30 is not high at all second the PSI is a computer calculation since the oil pressure sender is just a Hobbs switch the reading you see is not an actual pressure reading

As mentioned the oil pressure reading is fake, so is oil temperature.

Also, I’d source a Mopar air filter as non-OEM filters have been reported to cause more frequent regens. OEM filters are the best for air and fuel, but there are several better oil filters than OEM such as the Donaldson DBL7349 or the upgraded Fleetguard Stratopore.

Ditch the air filter . Get a Mopar ,Fleetgurd or Wix . Just forget Fram even exists .

In May I bought a 3 pack of Donaldson DBL7349 from Amazon Canada for $49.99, I just checked the price for the same 3 pack for fun and they are priced at $118,80. I looked around and was unable to find them to purchase without ridiculous import fees , Its a good thing I bought the 3 pack. Should be good for a couple of years I guess.
