New AZ member, not a 1st Ram owner

Hello! Just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I currently have an '04 Ram w/ 5.7 Hemi, 4x4, SLT, crew cab, 126k miles and it is long overdue to be replaced. This is the 2nd Dodge truck that I've owned, 1st was a '00 Dakota w/ 4.7 & 5spd, fun truck, and I've always had great luck with them and now I want a new 2500 diesel. Fortunately I have friends that all own 2500 & 3500 trucks from all 3 and I'm constantly drawn to the Ram. I have been in all of them at one point or another, they are all '19+ and by far I always thought the Ram rode the best so it is now time to order one as I can't really find a 21 with what I want or the couple I found wanted sticker or above.

I pretty much have it spec'd out as follows:

2500 Crew Cab Limited
Maximum Steel Metallic
Night edition
6.7 Diesel
Deployable bed step
Snow Chief group ** see below

I have a local dealer and one out of who both will sell the truck for invoice plus $1k but I still feel there could be a little wiggle room but give the times I know it is not the worst deal right now.



** This package adds the following features, all of which I wanted anyway, anti spin diff, clearance lights, transfer case skid shield, aux switches and 220a alternator. Basically $1100 worth of upgrades for only $655. Just not sure what else changes with snow group. Anyone know?

Where in AZ? I just bought from Earnhardt CDJR in Gilbert, contact Brandan and see what he can do. Josh, the sales manager is cool people. I got mine last month for about 2% below MSRP but did not pay anything for Inyati bedliner, stainless w2w running boards, security system, GPS tracking, window tint, One Armor paint for 3 years (reapplied every 6 months, covered no fee) and protective door cups/edge guards. They also gave me what I owed on my trade in which was 3k more than Carmax and Carvana were willing to give me.

I talked to Brandan yesterday and he said he is afraid they will start marking above MSRP as the Ford, Chevy and Toyota dealers in their auto mall are going about 6k over MSRP on average.

I'm located in Sun CIty, the dealer is in Phoenix that would match the out of town deal but as I am researching a bit more I have found that there still are better deals to be had but not likely in Phoenix as most are incredibly greedy dealers out here. If they are only 2% below MSRP that really isn't a great at all but they did give you some extras and I'm sure it helped having a trade as well. I am going to be an outright purchase and the deal I am looking for, after seeing what others are getting, is roughly 10-12% below msrp. I realize this may not happen in AZ but I'm willing to spend my money elsewhere that will take care of me rather than to support our local thieves.

Just finalized it at a touch over 12% below msrp Deals are out there to be had but you have to be patient, willing to do your homework and some legwork here & there. I have a buddy that will fly out and drive the truck back if I cover his flight, meals and throw him a few $'s. I may make the flight depending on when the truck shows up as it is right around the time of the Sema show, hoping it shows before but time will tell.
