Just picked up a 3500 Laramie Mega Cab night edition. Too soon to know how I feel about it. I’m well-known for temporary buyer’s remorse, no matter how much I like something, and still in that stage. . Driven nothing but Fords for many years. Getting ready to put my most recent one - 2014 F350 with 260k miles on the sale block. Chrome everything, so decided to go the other way with this one. Still kinda feel like I’m cheating on her. Absolutely loved that truck. Never left me stranded in almost 11 years. Honestly didn’t even consider Ram until I started shopping in earnest. With the recent discounts, the Fords were at least 10 grand more, apples to apples. Just couldn’t justify it. But I think this one will grow pretty quickly on me! WAY better interior than Ford, IMO, although it rides like a horse with locked knees. IMG_4013.jpeg If it counts for anything, it’s the first truck I’ve owned in 35 years of marriage that my wife said was “beautiful”. So that’s NEVER a bad thing.

You will like the ram. Delete it and enjoy. Personally I went chrome, I can’t justify the 5k for paint and future paint chips. Enjoy the truck!

Great looking truck! I much prefer night edition to chrome on these trucks, just think Ram did an exceptional job with the looks on them. If it makes you feel better, I've had slight buyers remorse on not buying a Mega cab every time I see a truck like yours!

So your forum handle is "unleaded" but you're driving a Cummins ???... :)

Thanks for the kind words! My handle doesn’t make much sense in that context, does it?? On the other hand, it was easily available here. It’s a leftover from my motorcycle touring days, so I’ve just kept that one for all forums I’ve joined.

Sounds good to me, I have no imagination so I just used my name.

I'm not surprised you find it to be a bit stiff/bouncy/rocky riding, as you read here you'll see that a lot of people mod the suspension a bit to smooth things out. But I am surprised it rides worse than your 2015 F350. My friend's 2015 or 2016 rode so stiff I was holding the grab bar half the time, just rocked and felt every bump pretty hard.

Im surprised too, honestly. Truly I may not have noticed it all that much, but the first thing my wife said, is that it’s “definitely a truck”. And then my son came over and drove it, and said words to the same effect. After driving them back to back, it was a clear difference. But 11 years ago was a long time, so I don’t have memory of it new. And I’ve replaced shocks, but even that was a while back. Age may have softened things up a bit, for sure. It’s don’t that to me, anyway.

At the risk of bumping my own thread…like the idiot I often find myself to be,in my new truck excitement, it never occurred to me today to check tire pressures. Had 60 in the front…but 80 in the rears. Dropped the rears to 65. It’s like a different truck on the rough roads we have around here.

Yes a lot of people find that same issue makes a huge difference. I have to tell them when mine is in for service to leave the tires alone, I'll adjust pressure as needed, otherwise I get the same high pressures. Many people here recommend even lower pressure than you are running, read some threads, I tend to run 55-60 front and rear, I'd probably run less in the rear but I tow around 8,000 lbs. at some point pretty much every week and I don't want to keep adjusting. I've run less up front and find I like the steering and handling feel at 55-60, less starts to feel mushy, and I love the ride of my truck (2500 with air suspension) so no need to drop further.
