Hello all, I am not new to th Ram trucks just to the HD's. Traded my 2019 1500 in for a 2020 2500 Laramie to tow my 29' toy hauler. It's the first diesel I have owned, so asking the owners of them what kind of mileage should I be getting with it? I am not worried about it pulling the trailer at all. I do feel the difference in torque when I take off without anything hooked up yet. Thanks and looking forward to many years with this truck.

Congrats on your new truck and welcome to the forum. My previous 2017 2500 diesel got about 9 mpg towing our 6500 lb TT and would burn DEF commensurate with how much I had my foot in the accelerator. Interestingly enough my 2019 Hemi gasser gets about the same mpg with a much heavier and bigger TT. Someone on here made reference to towing being more about aerodynamics, that when you’re towing it’s like pulling an open parachute. That’s good visual imagery for me. Good luck and enjoy your new truck.

Welcome! Enjoy your new truck, and I'll be "that guy" to remind you there is no 'G' in Cummins.

Congrats on the new truck and welcome to the forums!
I have a 2019 3500 dually with the HO engine. I tow a 39+ foot fifth wheel toyhauler that weighs in, loaded with gear, HD trike, and other essentials, at just over 19k. The truck had 130 miles on it when we left for our first trip over the 4th. Combined mileage, according to the truck, was 9.2 mpg. However, the fuel tracker app I use on my phone calculated 8.1. Now that was from Columbus, GA to Pigeon Forge, TN, roughly 1,000 round trip. I have not had to fill the tanks yet, so that would be a one way calculation. BTW, I have a 37 gal. transfer tank, hence the tanks reference. And my truck has been 'altered', if you get my drift!
