Need help with Amp steps and their crappy instructions.

If anyone has done these recently so I use this spacer on the front? See attached. There is no way to drill and pop rivet it with the body mount in the way. Seems they’ve completely redesigned these since anyone has done a video

I just pushed them behind without drilling or riveting, stupid design. I figured if they fall out oh well, probably not gonna make a big difference. They are still there surprisingly
 
I got it done guys, thanks. What threw me off was “if crash bracket is not present”. I have no idea what a crash bracket is lol. Anyhow I was able to get one rivet in with a right angle attachment and a stubby drill bit. Between that and a couple of dabs of some nasty rtv/adhesive between the spacer and the mount, it’s not going anywhere. Made sure everything was seated and they cleared the pinch welds without issue.
They’ve definitely changed alot since the Realtruck video.
