Mystery for pin plug behind rear bumper

So this is really a two-part question. I replaced my rear bumper with one that I found on eBay for my 2019 ram 2500 diesel pickup. It’s a loaded Laramie longhorn four-wheel-drive new body style. Anyway the bumper I purchased has an extra hole on the left side of the license plate. In addition, in my wiring harness there is a four pin unused connection that lines up perfectly with that hole. Obviously my factory bumper didn’t have that extra hole but this bumper was too good of a deal to pass at $150 even with the extra hole. I figured I could replace the cover but now wondering if I can use that hole. Any ideas from the picture what that hole and what that 4 pin connector is for?

I ordered it to be pre-wired for that! I always thought if I used ithat feature that it connected to the other plug in the dual connector on the right side of the bumper. I never pursued the trailer wiring as I had a furion camera that works great. What kit do I purchase for my trailer? Do they have a wireless version that can use that four pin plug? Thank you!!!

You ordered a 2019 with a digital rear view ? I wasn't aware that was an option back then. The connector on the right above the trailer 7way is for trailer 360 view. The kne to the left you first asked about is different as it displays the image of the camera on the mirror itself. The one on the right is for the 360 view that displays on the radio like the trucks 360view does.

I do have the auxiliary trailer icon on my screen. Which plug do I utilze that feature with and what part or parts do I need to attach to my 5th wheel?

That connector is for the trailer tire pressure monitoring system receiver.
The hole in the bumper cover on the driver side of the license plate is for the 2022 digital rear view mirror tow mode camera port.

Aux camera connection for digital rearview. It wasn't available for the 2019's

Those two things don't even go together.

AUX is on the 12-pin connector on the right side along with the 7-pin connector. These are analog camera inputs that show on the Uconnect screen.

2019 could have the XFQ (AUX1 camera) option added Dealer or DIY. 2020 (AUX1/AUX2) was available factory. 2022 went to the surround system on AUX1 + analog on AUX2.

The left side option for DIGITAL rear view is a COAX cable that is shown on the digital rear view mirror, not a 4-pin wire as shown. As Jimmy07 indicated already, the connector is for the Trailer TPMS receiver module.

Yes! I did have the auxiliary wiring added when the truck arrived at the dealership prior to me picking it up. So does the connector for the Trailer TPMS receiver module plug into a receiver in that hole on the left side of the license plate?

No, that hole is for the connector port for a 2022 equipped with the tow mode camera for the digital rear view mirror (COMPLETELY different than the aux trailer camera prep you have).
The TTPMS receiver mounts behind the license plate area.
There is a dummy cover you can buy for that camera port hole.

My 2021 75th Power Wagon has that hole in the bumper. No plug in it that I can see. Cover popped out when the bumper got hit.
New bumper doesent have that hole. It also didnt have the back up sensors so i have to swap mine over.

This is the camera port that would go in that hole:

This is the blank hole cover part number- 68526870AA

Thank you so much!! I will get that dummy cover to cover the hole. Should that 4-pin connector be attached to anything behind the bumper? I did not see a matching plug for it when I swapped bumpers. Or can I add the TPMS option by simply purchasing the module and “plugging” in the module and purchasing the kit for my 5th Wheel? Part number?? I am guessing that 4-pin plug is on every harness even when unused as it does have the assembly marker pen line across the 4 pin holes indicating not in use when the truck was assembled.

If you had Trailer TPMS, there would be a receiver module behind the license plate with that connector plugged into it. You would also have the TTPMS setup in UConnect.

To add trailer TPMS, you need the receiver, a module (TIM) that goes above the headliner, a jumper cable for the TIM, and AlfaOBD to enable it.

Not worth it IMHO. I added it and my aftermarket works better. Factory TTPMS doesn't' show tire temps and has no "disconnect" modes. There's a whole thread here for adding TTPMS.

Ok! Thank you everyone for the help! I will get the cover and call it good!
