My Limited truck was built without the Trailer Reverse Guidance programmed in the BCM

I ordered a 2500 Limited and opted for the Towing Technology Group mainly because I wanted the camera view of being able to see both sides of the trailer simultaneously when backing up. On Ram's Build & Price page that is the camera view they show for the Tow Tech Package. Unfortunately when the truck arrived I didn't have that view available. Apparently that view is called Trailer Reverse Guidance. I think it is very misleading to show that view for the Tow Tech Group to only find out when you receive the truck that is the one view that is not included. I called FCA to complain and they said talk to the dealer. I called dealer and they said call FCA. Is it just a matter of programming to get that view since the side mirror cameras are there which are included in the surround view camera system? I noticed on the Level 1 Equipment Group, Trailer Reverse Guidance is listed which leads me to believe it may just be a matter of programming. The local dealer service advisor said it may be a totally different computer and nothing can be done to correct the problem, which didn't make sense to me. It pisses me off they show a picture of an option only to find out later you don't get what's shown.

You should read the option list not just go bu pictures…. From my understanding that view is for the 2022s as it was announced for that model year, it may be backwards compatible but thats something @Jimmy07 may be able to chime in about

I did read the option list and logically thought that view was included with the Towing Technology Group surround view camera system since that was the view they were showing.

You definitely have a legitimate complaint, as it’s listed as part of the towing technology group in the updated 2021 sales brochure-

I don’t know how far you want to take this with the dealer, and I’m not sure they are capable of adding it, but you can definitely enable it easily with AlfaOBD.

Thank you Jimmy. I will show the dealer what you sent. Is that from the 2021 Buyers Guide? What is AlfaOBD?

Nevermind, I see you said updated 2021 sales brochure and I Googled AlfaOBD. Thanks.

I didnt realize they were putting it in the 21s thats good to know

Yep, I have it on my 2020 Bighorn with Towing Technology. But, I believe you actually have to select that particular view for it to appear on the screen.

Correct. @Brutal_HO posted a picture of the soft key for it above. @Ramfanatic, make sure you’re not overlooking how to get to this view. It is not accessible from the main surround view screen. You have to press either the backup camera or cargo view camera from within the surround view screen, or from the apps menu.

Why some of you feel the need to criticize someone's desire to use a technology or whenever they ask a simple question is beyond me.

I personally don't use the trailer reverse guidance mirror screen, but that doesn't mean that someone else won't, or that the expectation that a feature that's supposed to be included isn't working is unwarranted.

In fact, I'm at the point that the NAViKS box I installed that keeps randomly enabling the turn signal/mirror display on it's own is starting to piss me off.

I wasn’t criticizing the OP; I didn’t know that tech was a thing.

Seems like cool tech, if you’re into tech.

dito, i am not critisizing those who use it i just don't think i would find it useful…. Brutal, not everyones opinion is ment to be a jab at others but i do understand seeing words on a screen can be hard to interpret peoples intentions one of the many reasons i just prefer to call people instead of texting
