As the title says, sounds like pinging or spark knock under moderate acceleration. You'd almost think it was a gas engine. Truck has 200 miles on it and its done it since I took delivery a few weeks ago. Its my first Cummins. Is this a characteristic of the 6.7?

Completely normal. Diesel's are noisy, probably injectors is what you are hearing

You never owned a 12/24V Cummins. The new ones are quiet. Turn the radio up.

Spark knock or pinging is predetonation in a gas motor

Diesels do that. that’s how diesels run without spark plugs

One of the benefits of DEF controlling NOx production is it allowed them to put some timing back in the motor for better performance. It(timing)does give a bit of "timing rattle", as well.

Thanks for all the comments....sounds like its all just part of the program driving a Cummins.

I appreciate putting my mind at ease.
