Mud Flaps - Do you have 'em? Have you used 'em? What do you recommend?

Time to start thinking about hunting season. I will be driving down gravel and mud during hunting season. I'm counting on the 35x12.5 Nittos throwing a lot more up on the truck than the factory would have since they are wider and outside of the fenders a little. I am thinking I may try to use some mud flaps during hunting season and take them off when it's over (basically mid November through January) in order to protect my truck and paint. Husky makes a pretty cool setup for the rear that I have linked.

Have you guys used anything that can be removed and re-installed later fairly easily? Is there something you run all the time?

Huskys looks good. I use dura flaps, but husky’s looks to be a comparable set up. No drill on the Duraflap’s.

My 2016 1500 Ecodiesel has Huskys. My 2020 3500 HO has Mopar. I never take them off, useful year-round.

Also have the Mopar and really happy with them so far. Only complaint was putting them on my DRW was quite a workout.

Also have Mopar front and rear. Great protection. Reasonable price. Not really made to put on and take off. Best if just left on for good.

I had the Mopar flaps on my last truck. I didn't upgrade my tires yet so im going to see what happens this hunting season. I had the clear hood bra covering put on the lower 1/3 of my trailer and it stopped the rocks from damaging the fiberglass. The mud still lands there - even with the mud flaps!

This was last years experience :)

Yes, that's the battle! This was the most handy picture I had from last year. That was 1 trip in and the trailer didn't catch too much that day. Those tires were probably inset more than my new truck so it may be rooster tails this year! (Sorry for mucking up the board with a GMC.)

I've got the Mopar. Haven't put them to any test yet. We've got a couple of dirt roads on the way to the stables. It's only a problem after the water truck has gone through. Here in SoCal we really don't get much of that rain stuff...

I made my own out of large rubber truck mud flaps

I did the same... About $35.00 in material from a Big Truck Parts House + My Labor and a few Self Tapping Sheet Metal Screws. See Below :

Look nice, but the Mopar ones say “Ram” on them! :)

I agree with you on that, I wanted those as well, but these were a H**K of a lot cheaper and I made them wider and lower to keep more rocks and mud off of everything I pull.

Ive got the wt's. Im 100% satisfied. Match the oem rocker plastic perfect and my fiver used to be covered with big guts and road grime everytime we arrived somewhere,. Since I installed the wt's, I've not had to clean the front of fiver even once, and there's been no splatter rooster tails running up the side of truck. To boot, instal was a breeze. Super satisfied

I did the Mopar ones on my DRW. Install was ok. Little challenging with not removing any of the tires. Especially on the rears. Thank goodness for right angle drills. Shortly after putting these on, I ran over some recently road striping. Thankfully it was white. But the flaps helped from getting it on the lower rear trim. So far I have been happy with them. Haven't been in conditions like others have posted, though.

Yeah the right angle drill definitely made the install easier but trying to get the rivet tool in without removing the rear wheels was pretty difficult. There were lots of expletives used during install of the rears.

We started with a rear wheel and quickly decided that taking the wheel off would save a lot of frustration and those expletives. With the wheel off we also decided to use nuts and bolts instead of the rivets. Much better all the way around - really like the Mopar flaps.
