MPG WORSENING AFTER DEALER SERVICE

So after I turned 3000 miles, we took in our 22 power wagon for an oil change and a tire rotation. I was getting about the 10 MPG around town, but after they serviced the truck, I am at 7.9 MPG. Don't understand what is happening as my wife drives it more than I do, but she doesn't drive it anyway like I do (heavier foot). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Should I take it back in to the dealer to have them look at it? Thanks

Need to put some miles on. Changing oil and rotating tires will not change your mpg.

They did some updates for two recalls (airbag and stability control) that just came up, but I have put in about another 1000 miles since and it seems to be getting worse. I don't have any CEL or warnings whatsoever. Doesn't make sense why my mileage has gotten worse.

Do you have an infared thermometer? Check your rotor temps. Maybe you have a brake caliper sticking. That can severely affect mileage.

Dont need a thermometer you can usually smell that! Also when you hit the brakes it will pull to the opposite side of the stuck caliper

My buddy just had this happen on his town and country. No noticeable pulling or smell but his mileage had dropped off. He is a psycho about fuel mileage so he started investigating. One of the rear calipers was dragging pretty good. Anyway, it would be setting simple to check.

If the computer says 7.9, it doesn't mean your "getting" 7.9 mpg...its just a rolling average. These computers take a LONG time to average out. Mine takes a good 100 + KM on the highway to level out.
