I am about to replace my 2020 RAM 2500 Hemi so I am going to start the process of looking at other manufacturers. If I was going diesel; I would be pushed toward the RAM, BUT that's not the case since I am going gas again. I like my truck a lot, but I am going to look at Ford and Chevy HD gas burners. I am ready to get an updated cab and the RAM is missing several key things. There is a whole thread about it on here and they don't seem to be interested in updating so shopping I go. Fords 7.3 has more torque than the HEMI so I am interested in that.

research alot imho. I keep hearing people claiming the 10 speed ford trans are all having issues.
I know once im ready to get a new truck, ill be looking very hard at a duramax.

I tried to buy a 7.3 Ford, but ended up buying a 2023 Hemi instead. Ford was impossible to deal with, and they were marking them above sticker with "market adjustments"
There was no way I was going to do that! Ram gave me $11K off sticker

ive been looking around as well, i think RAM is tanking a bit in the updates, but also there pricing is becoming ridiculous. I tried to order a truck but was told 16 months, and i had to settle on alot of basic missing features on my build. My buddy gave me a 24 LTZ loaded dually from his lot to drive for a weekend to get a feel for it. I have to say GM/Chev have nailed the interior..... finally. The cab is definatly bigger than my laramie, and the digital screens are excellent. I will say however the seats SUCK! similar to sitting on plywood. I also had a look at a F350 Lariat dually, didnt get as much seat time but took it for a good drive, also a nice truck. still a bit plasticy though for my tastes, seats are excellent and huge cab. the 6.7 felt great as well. But Ford being Ford they were quite a bit more expensive than the Ram/GM

i dont know what the answer is on these bloody things, the cost of these things is getting out of hand, i can get into a med duty peterbilt or kenworth for this money. Ive said it before but soon enough well be thinking we've recieved a good deal when we drive off the lot in a 120,000$ tradesmen. I paid 94,000$ for my 5500 laramie in 2022..... for the same truck in a 3500 2024 iam 98,000$ with a less than desirable interest rate. The Ford was 110,000$, and the GM 96,000$ And what i cant come to grips with.... is in May my 5500 was valued at 80,000$.... and now there saying its only worth 60... 20k depreciation in 2 months? i know dealerships are snakes but come on.

My company vehicle is a 24 GMC 2500 and the 6.6 gas is an absolute turd.
I have a GMC 3500 with the 6.6L gasoline engine and I agree, it is sub-par. My brother has a F350 with the 7.3L gasser and 4.30 gears, it is a real workhorse AND gets about 16MPG on the highway. My GMC has never gotten more than 12 MPG. Just in case you care about the details, the GMC is a regular cab 4x4 long bed with 3.73 gears. The F350 is a crew cab 4x4 with 4.30 gears... I don't have much experience with the 2500 Hemi's

I have not been impressed with my brother in laws 2022 Chevy 1500 seats. Chevy has historically had good seats, but seems to have shifted to a flatter and harder seat. I think the 2500 Chevy has the same seats so I need to go drive one. I have heard that ride quality is better in the Chevy 2500 versus the RAM 2500 so I am interested in that as well.
RAM has just waited too long to update. I want more cab space, a flatter rear floor, telescopic steering wheel, and the seats to be lower in the cab as it relates to the door arm rests and center console. My fit and finish as well as the large screen are great, It's just way past time to change the cab.

One thing about not having cab upgrades - you don't have to re-buy accessories as often lol. It is a personal preference, but I prefer the look of my 4.5 gen as opposed to the 5th gens.

Don't think they've updated since. My nephew's 2500 was horrid. Hard seats, low position you can't hardly see over the dash. It was a dirtymax so it hauled ass, but I could never...

I believe the IFS trucks always ride better, big solid axles aren't as cushy, but they are tougher

I wish there was a way to mate the GM front suspension and the Ram 2500 rear suspension. That would be a nice riding 2500.

I’d bet the Ram air suspension 3500 mated with a GN front suspension would ride nicely.

What? You want the worst from both combined?

the ram 2500 rear suspension is awful and the IFS is the reason not to buy a GM 3/4 ton
I’ve had two of the GM 2500/3500 IFS and I don’t have anything to complain about them period.

The Ram rear suspension soaks up bumps better than the leaf springs on GM trucks.

So together I think they would be good for a truck on say a farm/ranch that does lots of off road stuff to soak up the bumps without jarring.
